My Great Great Grandfather, Charlie Mallard (c.1881-1952)
Over 80 years ago, in 1941 an expedition set out from Perth WA for a remote line of coastal cliffs north of the great Murchison River in Western Australia. The river being the home of the Beemarra serpent of the Dreaming for us the Yamatji ‘Aboriginal’ People of the Nanda tribe, and the heartland of our tribal region.

The Kangaroo had prepared the way for us.
While the river sat still and quiet, we said we would return again as with the water during the wet season. - Chris D
