This was an extremely challenging and demanding project, not due to any level of complexity, but rather the combativeness of the piece. This painting set it's Will against Artist before he placed any paint, with the finished image being of no resemblance to that which was planned, as the painting forced everything to be restructured.
The Artist intended the eyes to not be visible but implied, as to be lost in the darkness of the deep brow, but they appeared existentially with no intent of the brush, and they change focus depending on the light and angle.
